The importance of this classification and licensure is that “we” represent you. In contrast to say, captive “employee” agents that only represent one carrier and work as an employee.
Or, by Direct Writing Insurance companies that have customer service persons that may, in many instances, not be licensed or allowed to consult or provide advice as how to evaluate your risks.
This “Indpendent” classification is possible due to State Insurance Laws. We then are allowed to enter into contracts with the various Insurance Carriers and their Managing General Agents. (a managing general agent is the in between professional(s) that manage the application and underwriting on business we submit and renew with them on your behalf)
We quote and write nearly 1400 classes of insurance for business and personal lines.
